Freedom! partnership review

Around a month ago, I finally was able to join a Network through YouTube called "Freedom!" And it seems to be all the rage to do a testimonial and give, in my opinion, a weak observation on their involvement. Meaning, these people joined within days or a week or two, and think it's worthy enough to be considered a testimony. I purposely held off on giving my two cents, because the longer I'm with them, the better I can educate you.

Since you guys are already aware that I'm not very vocal... literally when it comes to general public speaking, your just going to have to settle for a written out testimony. And I'm not going to sugar coat it either. All these videos I've seen spoke such great praise to the small network, and that's bs. It definitely has just as many down sides to it like any other network out there. Granted, it definitely has a lot fewer than most, but still has a bit of a sting to it.

I signed up on January 19, 2014 after learning and investigating the network's information hours before. Thinking they wouldn't accept me, I tried anyways. Figuring I had nothing to lose. Unfortunately, it took one month, and two e-mails to finally get them to do anything to my account. With the last e-mail stating:

"...I request somebody to review my application as soon as possible. If this cannot be possible in an appropriate amount of time, then I wish to cancel our pre-agreement by next written letter from me."

Within a couple of hours, I got a reply something along the lines of "We'll review it as soon as possible." And the very next day, I was accepted in. Everything else went along smoothly. What made me feel more discourage was others were mentioning they were accepted in days or a week. I just hope it was an oversight.

Before I go into my pros and cons, and a nice good-ol'-hachi-rant, let me give you a backstory on what Freedom! and what it takes to get in there.

As quoted from the forum itself -

"Freedom! is an MCN founded by George Vanous, who also founded TGN and any.TV."

Freedom! offers a 60%/40% no set amount guaranteed ad revenue profit which can you can increase up to 110% by doing a lot more work aside from uploading or by naturally growing. You require 1,000 views per month, or 33 views per day and no strikes on your account to be eligible. Your contract begins immediately, and instantly are managed. Meaning your videos are automatically monetized, assuming you had no copyright or third party content. The one thing I've noticed which I see as a huge problem is if you didn't want a specific video(s) monetized, it switches back without your permission. You're not locked into a contract, and can leave at anytime, so as long as you give one months notice.

Now that I got the required FAQ stuff out of the way, I'll go into the pros and cons real quick, and leave you to decide. I'll highlight each point, and explain in a sentence or two as to why.

Pros -

Competitive requirements - 1,000 views per month is the lowest requirement to get into a network that offers almost all the same features. Next to Zoomin Games and Social Blade.

Polite community - Moderators and almost all of the community are helpful and friendly. Assuming they pay attention to what you say, e.g. forum post.

Fast growing network - With George behind the helm, its only a matter of time before Freedom! goes against someone (ironically) like TGN.

Exclusive features - If accepted as partner, you get exclusive features like a music library, XSplit, personal dashboard, private Minecraft server, and more.

Cons -

Questionable revenue - Since your only guaranteed $1, no matter what, beyond that, is questionable what you make based on CPM. e.g. $3.00 for the first 1,000, then $1.35 the next 1,000.

Lack of royalty free genre music - Most songs advertised is a lot of staple type music you could hear in say, CoD or Minecraft. but lacks foreign music, chiptunes, symphony, etc.

XSplit is not free -They advertise XSplit free to all its partners, but in exchange, take $5 from your revenue from your adsense to continue using it per month.

Your channel will not explode in popularity - Freedom is no different from anyone else. If you're small, don't expect the community to show support, and watch the bigger channels keep getting bigger over you, as you're held down.

On a neutral note, the community is very bland as far as content creation go. A good chunk only play Call of Duty, Battlefield, Minecraft, Titan Fall, Angry Birds, Happy Wheels. Basically, everything everyone else has over saturated to no end.

Overall, Freedom! Has some unique features not found anywhere else. Unfortunately, everything else in between makes them no different than a bigger network. Revenue split is no different than most that offer the same split. And expect you to work on top of the videos you make, render, and upload on a regular basis if you want more revenue. Add the fact a bigger channel can instantly get a better split, and a good chance to be promoted, and it makes for interesting sight to see yourself competing against yourself in hopes you get George's attention.

I personally say go for it, but unless you're hyper social towards the community, interest in the games they enjoy, or super popular, its just best just to accept you're part of the network, and ignore everything else. In other words, treat it as if your in Machinima.

One last thing before I go, and that's how I'm probably not going to use their forums again. Because what happened was stupid and not fair that there was no warning or response.

I decided to contribute on the forums to show I wasn't trying to leech off the network. So, I wrote this extremely extensive guide for people trying to start doing Let's Plays on the internet. Seven hours later, half asleep, with still spelling and grammar errors littering about, I posted and went to bed. Next morning, I went back to check, and much to my surprise, my guide gained enough notoriety, it was stickied on top of the forums topic. I was quite flattered, and felt pretty proud.

About a couple weeks later after being partnered, the post was moved to the partner section, which kind of confused me. It was meant to people who were trying to get into Let's Play. If it was in the partner section, didn't they already have an idea how to do it? Regardless, I wasn't going to object, considering moderators don't listen anyways.

I got pretty angry when I had to find out myself that they removed it from the sticky shortly after. I asked why a few days ago, and people are still continue to praise it, but no one is responding, and it's still going down the list. In about a week from now, I'll ask again, and if the mods won't say or do anything, I'll take the post down and post it on here, as I feel I'm being treated unfairly. Which is the reason why I won't participate in forums these days much anymore.

So, that's my two cents on everything, and I hope it found it somewhat helpful, despite me going into a tangent at the end there. Thank you for reading, and I hope to see you over on Freedom! soon. Until then, see you soon~

I simply can't avoid this any longer: PewDiePie sucks

For the past two years, I have been running into complete garbage on YouTube. People who think they're so funny, but in reality, anyone with maturity finds it annoying. From the product whore, iJustine, straight up to the copyright thief himself, RayWilliamJohnson.

The goal on YouTube is to create content for others to enjoy and interact with. Whether it's comedy, education, or anything in between. The uploaded attempts to create a fulfilling content, so that his/her viewers would be willing to come back for more.

However, it would seem anyone with 100,000+ subscribers loses their original goal, and instead, uploads sub-par content constantly once or more per day in hopes of collecting another dollar. And continues to take advantage of the system until their subscribers gets past puberty, and realizes there idol is no more than another annoying idiot.

Enter PewDiePie, A.K.A. Felix. The top dog for Let's Plays, and almost top dog of all of  YouTube. With 14+ million subscribers, and over 2 billion views, he has somehow became an independent celebrity Hollywood could only dream of having.

How did it become like this, and why hasn't anyone capitalize and copy his success? Well, if you want to degrade yourself to a screaming, nonsensical idiot who appeals to the majority of underage boys and girls, then you're set.

Each video consists of him screaming loudly even dogs would howl in pain. Using really random voices, which I think is suppose to be funny, but makes him sound retarded. Using disgusting titles for his videos, and sometimes misleading thumbnails and titles. Usually his face covering half of the thumbnail like a YouTube whore pro. Over saturates his uploads by uploading too many, almost all of which has very little effort put into them anymore. And everybody favorite, the constant use of casually saying the word rape, like this is a normal thing to do. Not to mention almost every video has his face via video camera plastered on every game he plays, when it is completely distracting and inappropriate to use. It was cute when he did it when playing a blind horror game, but the novelty dies real fast.

And there is a key word in that sentence; "blind". By definition -

"A blind run refers to a let's play of a game which the author hasn't played or finished before."

Three quarters of his videos are suppose to be blind, but his reactions are fake, knows what to do a little too well for playing it for the first time, and tries way too hard to make the viewer convinced he doesn't know what's coming next.

All tid-bits aside, the thing that made him the most famous was over Retsupurae, a group of gamers roasting other Let's Players and video games, making a video called "Adults React to PewDiePie". The video showed a group of people reacting to his already terrible gimmick, expressing annoyance, ignorance, and head shaking, questioning why he even had a following as is. This in turn inevitably made his fan base going into a flame war, and even caught Felix's attention himself. He would comment on the video, quoting -

"Pretty funny I'll admit :)
But seriously though, have you never heard: "If you don't like it, then don't watch it"?
Actually never mind, keep watching! You extra views gets me extra cash!
lolololol"

Which he straight out admits he's just doing it for the money now. Being quite passive aggressive on the situation, a lot of people now were learning that his channel, PewDiePie, was nothing more than an ATM for his success, instead of trying to legitimately entertain his fans like he use to when he first began.

He would also continue his greed streak as he announced he was running for "King of the Web" which the grand prize would be $7,000 USD. Which he would go on to say he's never seen that much money in his life. This would raise a lot of eyebrows. Even his fans were now questioning what he said. His popularity and cash cow to Google, a lot of people were very much aware he's probably making $7k easily in a matter of days every week. This would in turn, get a lot of people, including his subscribers angry over what he said. Mysteriously, his comments about the topic would disappear, and any information regarding those comments was quickly covered up.

He would go on to make "I'm sorry" in which he would explain that he fell victim to the trolls, and will now ignore them. But in that, also made a half-ass attempt to tell his fans to stop attacking the trolls as well. He gloated how he donated quite a bit of money to the WWF (the animals, not wrestling.) And would continue to be charitable with his money. To which I say bullcrap. You donate because you want to, not because you have to just to save face.

After that video, his fans became even more vicious. Any videos that spoke against him or even remotely copied him were harassed, leading to some getting taken down because they couldn't handle the heat. And here we are now.

I'm pissed off at him, I'm pissed off at his fans who think he's some sort of God, and makes if hard for a lot of other opinionators to throw in their two cents. Sad fact for you twits who enjoy harassing others, Felix couldn't care if your alive or not. Just like Disney, just like Microsoft, just like Google, your role in life is to make him money. Your just business to him. And if you die tomorrow, someone else will replace you in his business.

Flame me all you like. Call me jealous, threaten me, do whatever. I won't care about some pubescent brats attacking me over an opinion. Just come back in three to five years, and tell me if you still feel that way. See you soon~

Touhou 14: Double Dealing Character

Touhou 14: Double Dealing Character is a beast that should have arrived years ago. In ZUN's constant act to make each game fresh and different, most of the rules were rewritten in this one. Definitely making this one stand out more clearer than its predecessor.

Although, its difficulty is kind of flipped in some areas. The standard weapons used with Reimu and Marisa since Mountain of Faith are kind of crap, and have to fight twice as hard to stay alive.Whereas there  divine weapons are much more destructive, usually at a cost.

Stage one is straightforward with a mermaid at the end, with Cirno coming back as the mid-boss.
Stage two has a girl whose head keeps detaching, making it harder to dodge projectiles.
Stage three is a wolf constantly moving around, and criss-cross bullets during normal battle.
Stage four has two musicians, who, depending on your weapon type, may be hard or easy for you.
Stage five is a girl who constantly flips the field, and even inverts your D-pad.
Stage six is your general difficulty, but has a survival card half way in, and your grow so big!
Extra is the third musician who's a drummer, and focuses on bullet rhythm

.

It really doesn't get hard until after stage four. Which is weird, because the difficulty usually starts spiking after stage three. And Extra is what it is. Usually looking impossible to begin with, but after a few attempts, feel easier than it looks. I feel really crossed, because Ten Desires is stupidly easy,. Yet, it took me quite awhile to master it. DDC difficulty feels around the lines of UFO, but I finished it faster. MUCH faster.

One of the few things I praise it for is the exclusion of "extra" spell cards. Like in Imperishable Night and Ten Desires having more sadistic versions of a spell card you already went against. It is a blessing, but at the same time, kind of sad to know it may have been too hard for others. Or maybe ZUN was just not in the mood. Whatever the case may be, Spell practice is still there, and its a lot of fun.

The music is on par for what you come to know and love. Although, my little gripe with it comes on stage six, when the boss's theme is just an intense theme of the stage itself. The theme on Extra is very intense, and coming to the boss, you may want to adjust your bass, as it is wickedly intense in a good way. Although, listening carefully, you still hear a little bit of Flandre's theme in it. Which is kind of disappointing, because Mamizou's theme was the most creative in years.

The last major gripe I have is all Extra bosses from the PC era was always conceited. Having their portrait art smacked in the background during the fight. Raiko, for some reason, doesn't have this. The only other time this has happened was when you went against Ran, but was quickly cleared up when you unlocked Phantasm, and saw that Yukari was the true Extra boss for the game. But this wasn't the case. Which made me frown a little.

Overall, the 14th game shows that ZUN still has a trick or two up his sleeves, and I'm looking forward to the release of a future 15. The game lacks in some areas, but like with all the others, its not enough for keeping me from recommending it to you.

YouTube drama

I have a bone to pick with someone, because its been pissing me off for a few days now, and I really want to get this off my chest. Can you even believe its not a whole company either? Just one, single person?

Up and coming YouTube Partner, medraut567 is a pretty cool cat. I found his content entertaining, found his Pokemon Creepypasta to be a fun to kill time. He seems like a legitimately good person all around. Someone who I would love to personally hang out with.

That is, until a couple days ago. When he brought up some Q&A's for his fans, about a third of that consisted him explaining why he would pronounce the word color, "Col-ore". Short and sweet answer to this is because of European writing differences. How it is actually written is "Colour", but the word has since been basterdized by the Americans by their laziness.

This is all true by the way. I went and researched this so I could have better insight. Sure enough, there is a plethora of words that follow the same rules. Either an extra letter taken out, or an extra one put in.

I felt like I should give them a psudo-link to Wikipedia, so others could see it too. The part that pissed me off was the fact people were getting so butt hurt over the fact he pronounced it "wrong" and thought I could give a little support for him to hopefully shut one person up. I begin to write;

At the time, I didn't fully see how hypocritical that sounded, but I just wanted to show my support and help him. He would then come back to reply;

That pissed me off for a couple reasons. One being he was completely shunning my help because it seems like he wants to do it on his own. And second because he would be gutsy to say he gave an entire lesson on the matter, when in fact, he only used a couple words for example. If you're going to say that, don't say "Colour & Honour" is justifiable to be enough to be a whole lesson.

So, moving forward, I saw the error in MY comment, completely skipping over the fact he just ignored and destroyed my entire comment. I proceeded to reply, saying;

I established an apology, hoping we can still have a good interacting relationship later. I apologize for being a hypocrite, but the rest I stood by what I said. Several minutes later, he replies;

Not only has ignored my comment, help, apology, and support, but now he's schooling me on the obvious. I grew up in America, so I should know that being grammatically correct is important in all aspects in life. America, Germany, England, Philippians, Japan, Egypt, even friggen Iraq. It's important to learn how to spell correctly, and be a grammar freak at the same time. I'm not saying I'm the best. There's probably a handful of mistakes in this entry already. But, at least I know its important to be careful in how you write.

So, a little tweaked at this point, I decided to contact him personally, via email. The goal I had in mind was to show him I was not trying to go against him, and I just wanted him to understand I was trying to be helpful so others might understand why he says or spells things differently then we do, and hopefully stop a person or two from trying to troll. Accidental or otherwise. The letter went as followed;

I think I did pretty well getting my point across without sounding hostile. Not like I was trying to begin with. This, unfortunately is where this ends, because he didn't even say boo back to me. Considering I posted this a half hour after the last comment, my respect for him was shooting down the drain pretty fast. Its because of crap like this I have a hard time watching videos from some that entertained me so fondly before. When you can't even get off you high horse just to acknowledge me for helping, or at the very least, accept my damn apology.

People that know me knows I am brutally honest when it comes to something I feel uneasy about. This dude may have problems in his life, and I do feel sorry for him. However, I don't care if your inches away from death. You piss me off, and I'll counter back letting you know you pissed me off.

Maybe he'll contact me soon, and that would be fine. Even if he ignores everything I write again, at least he replied, and that's all that matters. But until that day comes, I'll see him no differently than all the other asses I pick on on here. Because you just don't do that. That's just immature and wrong.

See you soon~

PangYa! 4th Anniversary rage

This crap right here pisses me off. Four years of not going bankrupt, and to show their respect, they give out Pang we don't need, comets we're going to get a million of after the event, hats, while amusing, aren't going to cut it, chocolates that are unnecessary, a Papel box that has REALLY stupid rates. Really, its hit or miss on it. And Fragments nobody cares about anymore. What the hell!?

Four years, and this is the best to show your thanks. Kick me in the balls, why don't you? At least Korea, for nine years, you get a limited edition club set, plus a chance to win some really valuable cards. At least you brought the 8th Anniversary clubs here. You defaced it, and changed it to 3, but at least that was something! Which reminds me...

Look familiar? Yeah... QUIT DEFACING ARTWORK AND MAKE YOUR OWN, YOU LAZY ASSES.

WWE troll can't get the date right

I don't think I need to add anything else to this. Dude clearly doesn't know how to troll properly.

I'm not done ranting. FUNimation should burn!

===============================

FUNimation DMCA complaint to Google

===============================

It ceases to amaze me how friggen pathetic Hollywood is. Funimation is the anti-Christ of Anime, and deserve to die.

Earlier today, I went and looked for "Deadman Wonderland" a show "published" by FUNimation. Entertainment (pay attention to the quotes) When I looked for it on Google, I get nothing more than their website and YouTube. I do not wish to watch it on either, and just want to watch it on an independent video site. If you decide to search for it yourself and look at the bottom, you'll notice a spamful of DMCA complaints published by FUNimation. Almost 2,500 complaints were made by FUNimation to Google to force these links to shut down including:

Deadman Wondeland
Love Hina
Negima!?
Utawarerumono
Trinity Blood
Welcome to NHK
Tsubasa Chronicles
Exel Saga
Desert Punk
Kaleido Star

There is about a hundred or more titles on that list, courtesy of FUNimation ent. This is where this really ticks me off, because FUNimation on has "licensing publishing". THEY DON'T OWN THE DAMN SHOW. While they have full permission to do this kind of crap, they don't physically own the IP, therefore, GET THE F OUT.

For one, the people who do the dubs at FUNimation are THE worst actors in the world. They wouldn't know how to voice act even if they spent their entire lives trying. Even five generations later, they would still butcher those characters by their shetty acting. I can only name two people from FUNimation who can actually act. I won't say names to pick favorites, but they are good. The rest should just do janitorial jobs, because that's all they're capable of doing. Just like the GM's at SGI, THEY DON'T KNOW WHAT THE PEOPLE WANT!

I have complained about it multiple times in the past, but contrary to these people THINK they're losing money. Because of the internet, THE CONTENT WILL NEVER DISAPPEAR!! Let's take PangYa! for example. If you went into a golf store and stoled a set of clubs, they store and the company just lost $300 or something for the finest clubs you can get for a small budget. Companies lose money, reputation, people have paperwork to fill and get fired for this stuff to happen, and if you're caught, you'll probably go to prison.

However, if I appear on PangYa! and steal the Ruby Air Knight, or Soul Master set. Which is to be considered one of the best clubs in the game. The most damage that is given is I steal $10, if even worth of work in Photoshop, and a screw you to the art developer. The clubs still exist in Ntreev's database, you probably get banned, GameGuard security increases, and everyone moves on.

DO YOU NOT SEE HOW INSIGNIFICANT IT IS TO STEAL SOMETHING VIRTUAL???

Take Deadman Wonderland as example. Episode one through 12 will never die. Even if the company goes under, and takes the series down for good, it will forever remain on the internet forever because it's virtual, and has no value or meaning because it has absolutely no physical value. Why should FUNimation care? They're already streaming it on there site, so what's the bloody difference if it gets streamed elsewhere?? Oh no. Free advertisement for the company. Must take it down before we lose money!

Friggen pathetic dogs....

Let me bring one more example for you DMCA people, because you all suck and need to play around power lines... trust me, we'll all rejoice if you did. The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya box set, just for 12 episodes costs $50. The original Japanese release for Blu Ray costs $90 for FOUR EPISODES. Let me use games for an example. ZUN for Ten Desires release at Comiket and sold it for ¥1,000, or about $15. Jlist now sells it for $35. Let me tell you something right now, NOT EVERYONE CAN AFFORD THAT CRAP. And even if they could, another majority will call bullshet for such a high price for entertainment. A lot of people would rather just view it online, or torrent it, because we believe you prices for this is crap.

Luckily, I know plenty of sites I can still go to to watch these shows, and if it's good enough, I use Pirate Bay to torrent them, because I'm a poor bish who can't afford your crap because you make it impossible for me to buy them! You call it a Federal offense, I call it justice, you pigs. Just go bankrupt already. Holy crap.

And I know you work semi close with Aniplex, and I know they acquired the rights to Madoka. You son of a bitch, die already and all your sad actors who destroyed the show!

Toonami is a sick April Fools joke

So, I didn't grow up with it like some of you people, so I can get away with saying some of these things.

Toonami is lame. It sucks, no redeeming qualities to it. Should be canceled on the spot. And here's why.

Once, many moons ago, Adult Swim syndicated shows when it began, much like Cartoon Network did. It was practically pure anime, and everyone loved it. When Adult Swim gained its popularity, William Street, Adult Swims owners, stepped in and gave out its original content, the content of Anime quickly slipped. Yes, we got to see that terrible ending to Inuyasha, watched the greatest show of all time, Case Closed, fall on its head before the season ended, watched the Death Note being returned to the Shinigami realm, and watched the rebirth of Britannia on Code Geass. But are now replaced with original content they believe is funny, but is actually sick and disturbing. Things vulgar and blatant racism, childish blasphemy, promotion of taboo topics like making fun of straight and gay people, violence, Satanism, messing with someone dying or is already dead, and animal abuse just to name a few. There original series dominates the week, and the anime gets nothing more than a six hour slot on Saturday, crossing over into Sunday.

But its okay, because Adult Swim has heard your plea. Much like Nick hearing the overwhelming demand to bring back Legends of the Hidden Temple. So, what do they do? They bring back Toonami! Something Cartoon Network should have never cancled in the first place. But, they deliver a huge low blow when it was discovered that it's just taking over the Adult Swim block on Saturday THAT WAS ALREADY AIRING ANIME TO BEGIN WITH. They kept Cowboy Bebop for awhile, but chopped it really quick. So, the only two original series that carried over was Bleach and Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood.

This is where I have the problem with this, and I'll take Bleach and Samurai 7 as example. Samurai 7 is 26 episodes long, and is a very complicated story if you don't pay attention. When I watched it the first time, it took about a week to finish it. It was really good, and enjoyed the four hour original movie that came out decades before. Toonami just finished its eighth episode. Meaning, it still has almost four months to finish the series. THIS was cute when it originally aired in Japan for 26 weeks, but the show is eight years old, and should not be aired that slowly.

Bleach is more evil. If you read the Wikipedia articles, it won't finish until January 25, 2014! Almost 2 1/2 years when it originally ended! I attempt to watch it when I glance over, but all I see is Orihime and her boobs, so its not worth it. Smaller shows which have a 12 episode season works perfectly for this kind of crap, but shows like Inuyasha HAVE to be aired constantly so it not only keeps the viewer interested, but they also don't lose information for future plots. (like Inuyasha had a good ending. Skip to the last two episodes...)

When I am online, Adult Swim is what I keep on until I go to bed. But do NOT try to pass Toonami as an original block when all it is is a sick replacement of Adult Swim because they probably didn't want to put the work into it, and NOT "listening" to the peoples demand and protests.

Toonami sucks and William Street are just sadistic low lives garbage who are probably going to get shot because they respect nobody but there money. That's my rant, and I'll see you soon~

Real side of wrestling: Jerry Lawler

Lawler speaking to Cole before collapsing minutes later
on WWE Monday Night Raw 09/10/2012

As you are well aware from a couple of my posts, I've mentioned I was a wrestling fan. Way back. One of my first matches I saw was Eddie Guerrero leaping off the top turnbuckle on WCW. I seen some pretty wild stuff since then, and I've also seen some horrific events. One of them being tonight on WWE Monday Night Raw.

Jerry 'The King' Lawler: WWE wrestler, commentator, and Hall of Fame collapsed on a live telecast of Monday Night Raw, and was stretchered out of the arena and taken to a nearby hospital in Montreal, Quebec. The show went on as schedule, but Michale Cole stopped commentating not only because of his own personal grievance, but to also get any news from the hospital. As the final segment went underway, the show went eight minutes over-live on USA, ending with Cole saying Jerry is breathing on his own, heart is beating on its own, and they're about to do a CAT scan on his chest and brain to see what caused this to happen.

Photo taken by a fan and shared on Twitter

My prayers go out to him, truly. But earlier, he just got done finishing a wrestling tag team match, which I'm more than positive that's what caused him to collapse. I really wish these wrestlers like him and Hogan would just get the picture that; after a certain age... its time to hang your boots up. I just hope this doesn't hinder his remaining life value. Because, if he leaves early because he wanted one more chance to wrestle... that would hurt.

This is especially weird considering Bret Hart made his appearance tonight 15 years later in the same town in which he was screwed over the then WWF World Championship at Survivor Series before leaving for the WCW the next night. Call it closure if you will, he finally got the chance in the spotlight in Montreal and not have to worry about who would back stab him. And for an incident like this to happen, I can't imagine how devastated he was when it happened. Considering this was suppose to be a night of joy and redemption for Bret Hart.

The part of this that truly pissed me off was this was smelling like Over the Edge 1999 all over again. A great man, Owen Hart died in the middle of the ring... and the show went on. Jerry Lawler was on the ground in pain in front of 20 some odd thousand fans... and the show went on. Whether it was Vince, or Paul, or Stephine, the fact is, someone in the back was a cold enough to say "There's money to be made. We must finish the show."

Whether he recovers in time to commentate Sunday night pay-per-view WWE Night of Champions, or sits back and recover, you can be sure that a lot of people, especially Michale Cole and Jim Ross will have a lot of tension and fright until next Monday. I just hope he can come back and make a full recovery, because its not WWE without The King.

2012/⑨/⑨ Cirno Day!

I keep forgetting, because everyone forgets to remind me. But yush, today is Cirno day. The strongest girl in the universe who is also baka/ばか (stupid). Not much to say about this topic other than I have had the pleasure of playing against her in Embodiment of Scarlet Devil and Perfect Cherry Blossom, and as her in Great Fairy Wars.

So, let's celebrate this little fairy for a minute, and rejoice that we feel a little bit smarter with her around. Happy Cirno Day~

My PangYa! record and 10 facts and trivia about me

I haven;t done a PangYa! entry in FOREVER! Anywho, I just wanted to show off my records I have gained since United began in 2011. It's not grand records by any means, but considering two years ago, I was making +9 on Silvia Cannon a lot. So, I'm rather really proud of what I've achieved, and I hope you can respect that. I may do a comparison shot between my records now and my records from Season 4 Delight just to show you how far I've advanced. But for now, here are my current records as of... a few minutes ago.

Little fun trivia includes:

  • I have done a no par run on Pink Wind, kind of West Wiz, Blue Moon, and Ice Inferno.
  • My best record on Special Shuffle Course is -21 with around 2,100 Pang.
  • My best record on Grand Zodiac at a 4x cup is about 94 points with around 3,800 Pang.
  • The highest Pang score I've ever received in one game was on Grand Zodiac with about 54,000 Pang.
  • My overall goals are to receive -20 points on every course, 100 HiO's, reach Top Master E, and win a gold trophy
  • I have hopped around 50 different Hole in Ones.
  • I have participated in about 80 different GM_Events, disconnected in about 15 of them, and participated in one PGC (1st one) and one qualifying PWC (2010).
  • I have spent $870 in game since I began, with 22 Points left currently.
  • I signed up for PangYa! on August 13, 2010, but didn't officially start playing regularly until July 11, 2011.
  • First character, caddies, and clubs I ever purchased was Kaz, Magical Voice Clubs, and Tiki

And just for a little fun, here are all my characters in their present form.

I hope you enjoyed it. This surprisingly took some work to make, so it was fun for me. Anywho, I hope you'll see some drastic changes say... next year? lawl, see you soon, guys~

London 2012 Summer Olympics

So, I'm a fan of the Olympics. Began watching pretty frequently kind of around Salt Lake City in 2002, but really got into it at Torino in 2006. I enjoy the Winter games more, since there's more variety. Summer, eh. There's diving, volleyball, and gymnastics. Other than that, I'll catch the other when I see them.

So, London manged to screw up so much at the opening which was really a let down. Seven people lighting the torch? The hell? The flame isn't above the stadium? Just.. no. Please, no. I rather have the Chinese bring out a fake singer again over this crap. But then Paul McCartney came out, and everything was sort of better.

The Queen was there, but I didn't catch that. Even if I did, I would have screamed she's a cyborg. Because honestly, that old timer has to be smuggling the fountain of youth somewhere. You can't be 87, and still have the energy to run a marathon. oi

So, volleyball is on right now. The United States against South Korea. Nothing special, but why the hell are they hugging each other every time they win? That seems rather cheesy.

Anyways. This may come as no surprise to any of you, but I'm not cheering for my own country; the United States. After all my harsh learning of our greed, politics, violence. I'd turn the other way if France decided to cheat. With that Sarah Johnson, and that Michael Phelpes. Screw off, get those people off my team. One is a bitch, and the other got caught for pot, and your still going to allow them to stay??? Bite me, I hope England kicks there ass.

But back on track. I'm favoring like Germany for the weights, maybe wrestling, naturally Brazil for soccer, United States for beach volleyball, either South Africa or Jamaica for track, France for diving, BECAUSE I SAID SO... either China, Japan, or N/S Korea for gymnastics, New Zealand for swimming, and for my friend Kyu, I'll favor the Philippians for boxing~

Anywho, from everyone... INCLUDING the Americans, who are participating in London, I wish them all.... ALL the best of luck. As for England, shame on you for messing up the Olympic traditions.

Until then, see you soon~

And you wonder why America is overweight

The moment I saw this little "Spotlight", I thought "There's no way in hell your getting away from me."

So, good old Google decided to promote the most disgusting things we call fast food, and show you how to be even fatter than you already are! How awesome is that? Now, to be fair, I do eat out at them sometimes. But it's usually once every few months so I have plenty of time to get rid of that crap before going back for more. But then you have the "average consumer" which I have a question for you. I'm not so much concerned about your health and weight, so much as; how the hell can you even afford to go back every day?? Even you Starbucks dorks never cease to amaze me that you rather go broke before depriving yourself of caffeine. Like its the end of the world for some of you idiots.

Going off topic... let me try again.

For those that just HAVE to have your 700 calorie burger, NOW you can make your own at home! You don't even have to walk out the door now! How awesome is that?

I'm not making fun of fat people, mind you. I am very touchy on that subject, and rather those that do make fun of them take a saw blade to their tongue right now. I am dumbfounded by those that admit their fat, don't LIKE that they are fat, and they still indulge themselves at Burger King. Thinking they can't do anything about it. Last time I checked... that ain't helping! And I know not all of them do. Some its genetics, and some is stress, and the list goes on. But to those that can do anything to help or stop it, letting America promote shet like "Make your own Big Mac at home" is not going to help. Take your money you WERE going to spend, and go hiking, go swimming, go to Wal-Mart, and circle the store 20 times. God knows those stupid stores are annoying to walk around. So, do it!

My point is, for those that endorse fast food places, and allow ads I don't want to see, .... well... I'll just come right out and say it. COOK YOUR OWN DAMN FOOD! And God forbid its what I showed you.

Two years, and still kicking

Around this time two years ago did I step in and stayed with PangYa! I could not think of a better milestone than this. From achieving a -29 on Wiz City on Global, obtaining a Vocaloid set in Japan, to just getting into Korea and playing on PangYa!'s most popular server in the world. It has been a great ride, and it's not even half way over.

For my gift to myself will be to go after the new caddies when it comes here the following Wednesday

I will be doing a Special Shuffle, and have a wonderful time. Again, I thank Fox and Kyu for sticking with me all this time, and Esper for being a good friend. And of course my mom, for without her, some of my games would get boring quickly. As for the GM's, here's a nice little "birdie" for you. You all suck, and shouldn't even dare to be called a developer.

These entries are amusingly short, but I don't have cake. So, its not like I can go on for hours talking about my whole career. Trust me, you wouldn't even make it to the bottom. But again, thanks for a great time. I hope to see more exciting times on PangYa! soon~

And in case you weren't aware....
I'm back

I'm alive... sort of

So, I haven't been building my game recently. Haven't been around on PangYa! GB or JP, nor have I been playing Paperman or been on Skype recently. I also haven't been watching any anime. Wow, me. What the hell have I been doing then?

I've been playing Sonic Generations. *grins*

So, I'm suppose to write, and tell you something interesting. Umm

Yeah.... This is the best I got for you....
...
..

.

Well, see you in a couple days. See ya~

Adventures of the Polar Cubs

So, I just finished watching something that the last time I honestly remember watching was about 15 years ago. It was a movie that was decades before Pokemon, and even older than Nintendo's entry into the gaming universe. That movie was The Adventures of the Polar Cubs.

Released on July 21, 1979, it told the story of two polar cubs, their experience growing up in the good and bad times in their life, only to end the movie with them parting with their parents to live on their own. It has a lot of Kimba's elements in there, and since I cannot say that 100%, it does feature animals like Kimba. It is rather interesting that the anime wasn't out of place except for the two cubs, who have a slight Russian element in their name, but still maintaining Japanese. Muushika and Miishika. And since a lot of you are probably reading that wrong, it's pronounced (Moo-shka - Me-shka) Very interesting names having a very interesting plot.

I was about seven at the time that I watched it on a VHS tape, and one of the final times would be right around 10 years old. Give or take. Back then, I didn't even realize it was even an anime. But then again, the word "Anime" was still very foreign to me. Nevertheless, I was still quite happy watching it, only to have a good laugh of what genre it was some years later.

Many, MANY years later, I managed to find it through a torrent file, and after watching it sadly, there was no DVD or VHS remake of it. It was quite surprising to even find it in the first place, since it was translated and released one time in the 80's. And even with a release in America, the acting was horrid. And I'm not talking about voice acting. That was actually somewhat good. I'm talking about the voice from the character and the actor was completely out of sync the majority of the time. You would find times where the acting was either too soon, or too late. While other times, the characters didn't open their mouth to speak, and yet, they still did.

I would be understanding if someone challenged that statement, saying the torrent file was bad. But, I also remember back then that nothing really matched up. So, no, they just were blatant about it. Since translating in the day was still not worth the paycheck to do, just be lucky it even got released at all.

Anywho, after getting to watch it again, made my head spin. It gave me that same feeling I got when I picked up and played Super Mario Bros. 3 for the first time in a couple of years. It was nostalgic and I felt something I lost came back in an instant. Though, I can't exactly recommend something like this to anyone, because 1. It's nothing but animals, 2. The movie itself is more than likely years before you ever existed, and 3. The out of place acting might make you turn away right now. Regardless, I suggest you give it a shot at least once. You might not regret it. Over a decade, and I still love it just as much as I did back then. But now, it's hilarious to catch the errors in it.

Again, give it a try. It's one of those animes that are pretty nostalgic, and shouldn't be buried forever. At least from my childhood. That's all folks~

March 11, one year later

Well, today marked the first anniversary of the Japan earthquake and tsunami disaster. Personally, I cannot say much because I wasn't there, but I do remember how scared and worried I was. All I have to say is... wow. The Japanese can definitely pick up where they left off really fast. However, no one in the world can replace the human life that was lost. We honor those today who were lost in this disaster, and those who still suffer in this event.

We are incredibly grateful that Japan gives us so much entertainment everyday. And we sympathize to those who lost their love ones. And we remember their struggle and their power not to give up. A year later, and they are still just as strong, but have been damaged inside their hearts.

So, we still support you, still care about you, and we will continue to pray through the years. Thank you for being strong for us, and we will never forget your struggles you have and will face in the years to come.

ありがとう日本
私たちは決して忘れないだろう

Tournament - complete flop

Well, my experiment was beyond depressing. It would be depressing to me if I wasn't so busy bobbing my head to some Killer Instinct music. Awesome stuff right there.

After five minutes waiting, this is the end of what I came to.

Maybe next month. I dunno. I'm having a good time right now, so I don't have any hard feelings about it. Actually, no. I blame the 2x event last weekend that screwed everything up. Bloody GM's conspiring my events.

So, in conclusion. This sucked. But, I'm having a good laugh, so I can't take this seriously right now. Maybe next time, I'll post on the forum about it, and try to bite me lip about attacking a GM on there. Until then...

hachi1: See you soon~

The long awated PC upgrade

Do I ever hate life. My body is functioning from a midnight to 3 P.M. schedule, and I can't seem to break it for the life of me. Oi.... well, for those that were anticipating my Sunday update, thank you for not harming me in your wait. The event will be held this coming Saturday. Same time, same rules, the works.

But, this is only 5% of what I wanted to talk about, my other agenda is slightly more detailed. I'm going to be working on a project outside the computer realm, and I want you guys to be part of the experience. Technically, I'm not moving far away from the computer since I'll be inside the computer. Trippy, is it not?

I wrote a blog sometime back explaining or bragging that I was still an XP user. Vista damaged my testicles, and 7 while has a couple perks more than XP, is nothing more than a glorified Vista... without the bugs.

Here's the catch that keeps me away from using it 24/7; all the specs, inside and out, are still the original. While this may not sound like a hindrance at first, the specs, come this December, are nine years old. And just for quick show, let me tell you what it offers.

  • Windows XP SP3 basic edition
  • Intel Pentium 4 2.8 Ghz single core CPU
  • Two 512MB DDR400 RAM chips
  • Integrated Intel graphics 98MB of graphics memory
  • One 3.5" 150GB SATA HDD
  • Audigy 2 sound blaster
Other specs includes a motherboard with six 2.0 USB slots, a PS2 connector, Ethernet port, PCI, and a couple other trinkets I've never used. On the front has a CD/CDRW 16x speed, DVD, Floppy, at the bottom has two additional 2.0 USB slots, and a fire wire. Can't give you real measurements, but its big. Comes up to just below my legs. And its weight I want to say is roughly 15lbs.

THIS is obsolete specs. No one in their right mind could ever get away with using that now. I is not rich, therefore,  had to live with this for years. It plays most games very well, but anything pushing after 2007 is just asking for trouble. Stupid tid-bit tasks like internet and such is fine, just don't have 10 programs running at once while downloading a huge file. And Fraps can't run on most applications, and streaming is a joke.

So, how do we take care of this? Should I take care of this? I clearly have a laptop pushing specs that most low end users would love to have. It is meant for gaming, and I have not come across a game that hates me yet. So... why?

This desktop has seen hell and back. Originally was shared between my mother and I, it fell into my hands a couple years ago. I have always loved it, even during my times using two different laptops. And, its XP. I can never go against that.

This is where my project comes into play, because its going to be rivaling some PC's today, and make the XP look cool again. Here is what its going to fashion by the time it's finished.

  • Four 1GB DDR400 RAM
  • 512MB PC graphics
  • New tower, with a new overdue power supply
  • Wireless card
  • Fully functioned Japanese region support and IME
  • One 3.5" 1TB SATA HDD
This may not seem like a lot, but with a sleeker look, and more power under the hood, it may even take the computer a few seconds to realize what just happened. The three drives in the front will be replaced with one full CD/DVD drive. I can do all my writing on my laptop, since it also support BD. Their should be virtually no cords on it either.

One wireless card, a mouse and keyboard wireless dongle, along with a wireless PS3 controller dongle. All that should be exposed is a PCI cord and audio cord, along with my optional PSP USB connector to transfer games, and the same cord used for my external hard drive for my files and Wii games. And maybe an external SD reader, but that's for later.

I'm hoping to reduce the size by 35% and chip the weight off by at least 5lbs. All that would be left to get is finding a dedicated monitor to it, so I can finally use my T.V. for Netflix or something.

Overall, this should be a really great upgrade for my desktop, and a fun project to work on in the next couple of months. And, if it proves to be successful, I should think about snatching my moms e-machine. That thing is junk, and desperately needs an upgrade. Albeit, something less hardcore than mine, because she doesn't game a lot, and really only needs it for Facebook. Oi.

But that's my little project. I think I covered everything I wanted to say. I'll be sure to take some pictures later today to give you an idea of what it looks like, and how bad it needs an upgrade. I guess until then, guys, see you soon~

Love is where you screw your community over

On the 9th, there was a post where people could actually play with their GM of choice on PangYa! All YOU had to do was pick a GM, explain why they were your favorite, and explain what you would do with them. The picked winner got to play with their GM of choice for 45 minutes, and receive other goodies in the process.

I decided to enter. Thought it would be fun and all. Get into the spirit of Valentines. Rah! So, looking through the list, I chose Mint. Don't know who she is, don't know what she does. I just thought the name was cute, and maybe she needed some love. If I haven't even heard of her, chances are no one has.

Little did everyone (including I) know how bad this contest was rigged.

Only the popular vote got its pick. There was about seven others that people were voting for, including these two. And we never had a friggen chance to begin with. Why the FRIGGEN hell would you dare to set a list up if you weren't even going to look at them!?!?!? Syn, sweetie. I don't know if your behind the contest or not, but your worthless head is up for grabs from the some teen votes you didn't even look at. How friggen dare you??

Do you even realize how many people you dissapointed?? There were actual people pouring their hearts out saying that it would have been awesome to spend time with a GM. And you didn't care, did you? You didn't care that you probably stole someones dream away.

In fact, Tiramiss and Killgrew were probably the worthless GM's off that list. Kill is always writing to people, and hosting events, and Tira is always shoving her face in the spotlight, just so the world revolves around her. THEY HAVE TOO MUCH EXPOSURE. They didn't deserve to BE on that list.

What about the others? Huh? The last time I ever heard from Phoenix was when she was hoping to go to Japan the year before. Raven, I only saw one time, and never again. And I stuck with Mint because I saw she JUST joined the employee ranks, and I thought it would be nice to give credit to someone who wasn't recognized.

To hell with you guys. Seriously. People joined because they wanted some fun. But what's the damn point if your not even going to look their way??? And you people wonder why I don't play here much anymore. I feel more sorry for those that never stood a chance than me who just entered because I thought it would be fun, but knew I never had a chance to begin with.

Yeah, I entered. I also didn't take it seriously. Or, if you read it wrong, you might think I was taking it TOO seriously. But to those people. Man... to be thrown away just like that. Once more, I can't wait to see the fall of PangYa! Global, because their greedy pigs who need to starve.

And that's what I think of this crap.

Ice Inferno Closed contest

I'm deciding to do something special since I love you all. And, if this proves to be popular, I may do more in the future.

This will be a contest for this weeks Valentines day. It will be an open tournament for anyone who wishes to enter. One lucky winner will be chosen. The prizes are as followed:

The rules are very simple

  1. Enter Black Papel Free 3 on February 25, 2012, by 03:55 pacific daylight time at the latest.
  2. At around 04:00, I will announce the room opening. It will be labeled Hachi's Ice Inferno. The game will be set for 30 minutes.
  3. At the end of the game, I will screen cap all the people from the result screen
  4. I will then randomly choose one player through http://www.random.org/ and pick a winner there. For example, if the number chooses 19, and that player was in 19th place when the game ended, he/she will win.
  5. I will come back to BP Free 3, announce the winner and will win the prize. If you leave Black Papel Free 3, you may not be chosen to win!
*If that player does not come forward, or I just so happened to win, I will re-shuffle until we have a winner.
*In the event I happened to disconnect. The first person who screen caps and sends me a link to that result screen will receive 25,000 Pang.

So, tell everyone you know to join. I'm sorry I cannot offer more to more players, but this is the least I can do to say thanks for reading my blog. Dunno how you managed to stay and read this long, but I'm happy for it. Leave a comment below and tell me if your joining. Or leave suggestions on what else I can do to make this event a lot better. I'm counting on you guys to spread the word and make this very enjoyable. I hope to see you there~

Kooh's birthday event

Alright, since my video crashed during upload, and had to re upload it AGAIN (expect it around 21:00 PDT) Here's a quick list of what you might expect here during Kooh's birthday event.

The rules haven't changed... just make 10 bingos and win 10 items. This isn't the exact list in order, but here are the goals.

  1. Play all 18 courses
  2. Make something in Cadie's Cauldron
  3. Play one game using Papel
  4. Play 10 holes using Kooh
  5. Make an Albatross using Kooh
  6. Log in for 7 days
  7. Complete an 18 hole tournament on Ice Inferno
  8. Complete a V.S. On Ice Inferno
  9. Play 1 match tournament
  10. Play 1 match V.S.
  11.  Win 1,000 Pang in one game
  12. Hit PangYa! 100 times
  13. Complete 100 holes on Ice Inferno
  14. Play 5 times on Ice Inferno
  15. Make a 20y putt on Ice Inferno
  16. Make 5 Eagles on Ice Inferno
Really no emphasis on Kooh this year, and I'm kind of glad, considering my Kooh is not meant for game play, and in fact was only bought so I could participate in the birthday event couple years ago. But if you notice, a lot of the missions are asking you to frolic through Ice Inferno quite a bit. A lame excuse to facade a birthday event in favor of a new course. But, whatever.

Successfully complete all the mission before maintenance, and your prizes, at least in Japan, are anything but trivial. Real items on the line this year. Quite impressive. They are:

  1. 20 Papel coupons
  2. 100 Time Boosters
  3. 100 Auto Calipers
  4. 3 Silver card packs
  5. 1 Random Dark Lord set
  6. 20 Kooh comets
  7. Puff for 3 days
  8. 1 Random Dark Lord set
  9. 3 Gold card packs
  10. 1 Random Dark Lord set
This is wild. Full sets that could have been placed in Gacha is up for grabs in a bingo event. Guess the Project G 3rd Generation set is more popular than I believed. And I am GLAD those masks don't make a return. Seriously, who's smart idea was it to design masks. Nell looks friggen creepy with an Azer mask.

And these sets, with the exception of Max and Nell, are obtainable in a players shop. Usually running about 1,200,000 Pang. So, again, I say Ice Inferno is lacking originality, but with Gacha potential items at stake for this birthday event, I say don't hesitate.

PangYa! Ice Inferno

This release was too fast, but whatever. I don't develop for Ntreev. A little over 24 hours ago, (2/9 11:00 PDT) I am here once more for another run down on another brand spanking new course from PangYa! Well, sort of. I am here to give you a glimpse at Ice Inferno. I'm already shaking. It's.... interesting because there's no real special things I can really say about it. Just as the name says, Ice Inferno is supposed to be a replica of Deep Inferno. What they didn't bother to tell you is the course is exactly like Deep Inferno. Just... iced over.

Major difference between each other is the fact that ice machanics play such a huge role on the course. Literally, every green is surrounded by ice. Meaning, if you land short of the green, chances are your going to go flying somewhere you don't want to. At the same time, this is also a blessing in disguise. While normally, certain areas stop you from traveling farther, most holes have ice you can use to jump farther, thus getting closer. This is not a technique that should be utilized every time you get the chance. Allowing the ice to let the ball fly can make it near impossible to jump the mountain side on hole 18.

Other parts include obstacles near the tee now. Spots you were able to spike, and especially hole 9 where you can cobra and clip the mountain makes it more challenging. Curving is still an option, though, if you are not familiar of your curve, or how much you need. You may hit what you were attempting to dodge, or hit something else entirely. The scythe in the middle of the hole on hole 6 has been moved significantly to the left. 1W users and fans can now be able to use it on this hole if they wish. You still should be caution, though. Remember, it only moved, its not gone completely. Missing tomahawk or high winds can still hit it just as easily. So, stay with 2W, or take the risk.

More bones have been added around the course. Most noticeably on hole 2 and 16. Again, missing tomahawk or high winds have a high chance at striking your ball in mid-air. Hole 12 doesn't even have a mountain anymore, and just has a small building. Tomahawk lovers or spike phobia people can easily get past it not without worry despite having low power or not. Hole 7 is completely on the surface now, and doesn't dip like its sister course. Almost every hole has more stable greens, but makes up for it by having the same green mechanics as Ice Cannon. And the most noticeable difference is the lake beds are now frozen, and makes it easier for Rookies to play. Although, the small circular lava pits are now O.B. areas.

Inside the lava pit h3

Left side of the green h2
The course has been labeled four start, and that is really disappointing. For something that had so much hype during the Special Shuffle days, it really was a let down. They were talking about some of the most sadistic holes you had ever seen, the feeling of helplessness, even a boss battle. And the best we received was a mirrored version of Deep Inferno.

From my personal opinion, it is one of the darkest courses in the game. And I'm not talking about the low lighting. It gives you an empty feeling almost. A deserted Deep Inferno, now frozen. Any life that had surrounded it is now inhabitant by these black creatures. To put it simply; a ghost town. Its score is one of the best to date. Orbit of Darkness gives that haunting chill feeling, making you feel more alone than you should on such a deserted course. Cyan Sunset (no doubt, its counterpart to Vermilion Sunset) gives you that rush of something big. Still pertaining that dark feel, you can't help but feel exhilarated. Both even have vocals. That's a first.

Overall, the course is a flop and a success. It really didn't do anything differently to what Deep Inferno already had. But that's what makes it so unique. It turned most of the hazards into obstacles, no doubtedly changed around some areas that were complained about in the past. Made some parts more difficult, and others easier. It's the course that Rookies have been wanting, while giving the veterans a new challenge. In some ways, you may find some parts on Deep Inferno a lot easier after taking a run on Ice Inferno. Until you hit the green that is.

It is disappointing for grinders to stay at Deep Inferno until the overdue, anxiously anticipated third five star course arrives, but those accustomed to it already will find Ice Inferno just as much challenging. In the end, you'll probably end the game with the same score as you received on Deep Inferno, but a walk in the park, this is not. Prepare to play one of the most haunting courses to date. It lacks originality, but you know your going to have fun.

This is PangYa! 18th new course; Ice Inferno.

Gameplay - 7.4
Design - 5.7
Score - 9.8
Presentaition - 9.8
Overall - 8.1

Developers rant

Even Nintendo loves the tanuki

As some of you may or may not know, I am a level designer and retro lovers. Both of which is a dream come true. However, for the last two or so years, I have been searching high and low for one in particular, and that's Legend of Zelda - Links Awakening; or Zelda no Densetsu - Yume o Miru Shima. I have edit and crashed with Lunar Magic, Super Mario Workshop, and even crashed the computer editing PangYa! But, I have never seemed to have come close to one of my most personal favorite games ever.

I strongly felt that this game, and its Oracle series that came years later was a great past time to play, and definitely a breather from living in the 3D world with the 64. Then came the next portable series for the DS, and Zelda since then has been ruined beyond repair. I despise the look and feel of it, and it baffles me anyone would have the patience to play a Zelda game using only just a stylus pen. It's bad enough you have to swing your remote to use your sword, but this. Well, this is just retarded. Whatever happened to mashing the A button? Anyone remembers that??

The old style of Zelda was successful enough, and made everyone want more. I cannot understand why anyone thought the Oracle series was a bomb. It had a couple a tweaks. So what? Big deal. Tell me one Zelda game that didn't feel awkward at first.

The problem with an editor is, no one knows how to assemble it. They know how to take it apart, move things around, put it back together. Not a big deal. The issue everyone seems to be having is the fact Links Awakening is a little more advance (or out of date) than most people expected. The game is so picky, and requires each byte to be carefully moved around through a Hex editor or whatnot, reconstruct each piece, and put it back together hoping it won't crash. In a way you can understand, the game was glued and pressed so hard, that even moving a loose piece is dangerous, and might break the whole thing.

I hear people constantly cracking their shots at building it in C++, but they all say something that makes the game throw a fit, and refuses to play. Why don't you throw it in Pearl then?? The game clearly wasn't built on a regular platform, so why not use something more advance and convenient? Makes sense to me. I don't have much developing tools under my belt, but that just seems more logical. THE GAME IS 15 YEARS OLD, you cannot tell me that Nintendo had a anti ROM theft management light years ahead of its time, and its uncrackable. You proved it with ZLADE. No one used the damn thing, but it was a start.

So, come on... I've waited long enough. Let me tweak with it finally! I mean, if I REALLY have to, I'll rip out my hair to use ZLADE or ZOLE. I might even think about using Game Maker. More logical in that sense. Seriously guys, if your trying to do a hack, try your best to steer clear of ZLADE. It is a developers nightmare.

Enough with this rant. I got something special for you guys soon. Thanks for reading.... I think~
